A Bit About Therapy

As parents of three children, we know that all parents want their children to have a healthy mindset. That is, we want them to have the mental ability to interpret the world accurately, respond to life situations gracefully and manage their relationships with themselves and others without stress. Having a healthy way of organizing and structuring the world allows our children to be prepared for opportunities, have healthy relationships with friends and not be limited by psychopathology that makes them dysfunctional in one or many areas of their life. As parents we want our children's minds to be like good soil, meaning  it's healthy and fertile enough to produce whatever they desire. Unfortunately due to challenges in life, this sometimes requires reaching a NEW state of mind. NEW, refers to a state where we have "No Enemy Within" (NEW). It is my belief that the greatest enemy our youth fight today are within, within themselves, within their homes, within their neighborhoods, within their schools and within the media they consume. It is our goal to implement effective coaching methods to teach  self-understanding and instill a growth mindset.

About Me

Nguvu ya akili
Strength of the mind

As a person of African heritage I began to realize a great majority of people in my community did not seek the services of mental health professionals and did not have trust or faith that this level of support would be an effective solution to their challenges. At an early age it became my mission to bridge the gap between a profession I believed in and the community I love. As a school psychologist my passion for helping children be the best version of themselves has no ethnic barriers. Rather, it is the appreciation of all cultures and their brilliance that has inspired me to place an emphasis on the African American culture.I truly care for all of my clients, and work diligently to help find them the answers they seek.
